Wayfair sets March 31 opening for second large-format store in Atlanta’s West Midtown retail district

New brick-and-mortar location brings Wayfair’s large-format concept to Georgia

Wayfair will open its second large-format U.S. store in Atlanta on March 31, 2026, expanding the e-commerce company’s push into physical retail with a 150,000-square-foot location at The District at Howell Mill. Doors are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Eastern.

The company has also scheduled a grand opening weekend celebration for April 17–19, beginning at 10 a.m. on April 17. The store is located at 1801 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

What shoppers can expect inside the Atlanta store

Wayfair’s Atlanta location is designed as a one-stop home retail destination, carrying furniture, home décor, outdoor living items, housewares, appliances, and home improvement products. The store format is intended to translate a portion of Wayfair’s online assortment into an in-person browsing experience, while still enabling customers to place orders for delivery when items are not taken home immediately.

The Atlanta store will also include The Porch, an all-day café concept that has been part of the company’s large-format retail model.

  • Opening date and time: March 31, 2026 at 10 a.m. ET

  • Grand opening celebration: April 17–19, 2026

  • Location: The District at Howell Mill, 1801 Howell Mill Road NW

  • Size: approximately 150,000 square feet

Why Atlanta and why Howell Mill

The store anchors Wayfair’s entry into a high-traffic corridor in Atlanta’s Upper Westside/West Midtown area, positioned near major intown neighborhoods and regional access routes. Wayfair has emphasized the operational advantages of locating the store near its fulfillment center in McDonough, Georgia, a factor expected to support faster delivery for larger purchases that customers do not take home the same day.

How this fits into Wayfair’s broader retail strategy

Wayfair’s Atlanta store follows the company’s first large-format location in Wilmette, Illinois, which opened on May 23, 2024. The Wilmette site marked Wayfair’s debut of a full-scale physical store under the Wayfair brand, pairing extensive on-floor product displays with supporting services and an on-site café.

Wayfair’s Atlanta opening formalizes a shift from online-only convenience toward a hybrid model that combines in-person product evaluation with delivery logistics and digital ordering.

For Atlanta-area shoppers, the March 31 opening establishes a new option in the local home furnishings landscape: a national e-commerce brand attempting to compete on tactile shopping, immediate purchase for select items, and delivery speed for oversized goods.
