Two of metro Atlanta’s three Saks OFF 5TH stores are slated to shut down

Saks Global, the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, is moving to close most Saks OFF 5TH locations nationwide as it reorganizes under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The decision includes two store closures in metro Atlanta, affecting the outlets in Woodstock and Lawrenceville.

Metro Atlanta currently has three Saks OFF 5TH locations. The store at Buckhead Station is expected to remain open, while the Woodstock store at The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta and the Lawrenceville store at Sugarloaf Mills are on the closure list. The Lawrenceville location is scheduled to begin a closing sale on Jan. 31, 2026. The Woodstock location is scheduled to close on Feb. 2, 2026.

What Saks Global says is driving the shift

Saks Global has said the restructuring is designed to concentrate resources on its full-price luxury businesses and reduce exposure to off-price operations. Under the plan, only 12 Saks OFF 5TH stores will remain open across the U.S., and those locations are expected to serve primarily as a channel for selling residual inventory from Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman rather than operating as a broad off-price chain.

The company’s Chapter 11 process follows heightened financial pressure tied to debt and restructuring needs after its acquisition of Neiman Marcus in late 2024. Saks Global has also indicated it is stepping back from purchasing new merchandise specifically for the Saks OFF 5TH outlet business.

Online business and related outlet formats also impacted

In addition to store closures, the Saks OFF 5TH e-commerce operation is being wound down, with an online closing sale beginning Jan. 30, 2026. Saks Global has also said it will close the remaining five Neiman Marcus Last Call outlet stores as part of the broader pullback from discount formats.

What shoppers and employees should watch next

Saks Global has not issued a single nationwide “last day” schedule for every location, and timelines can vary by store. For metro Atlanta, the most specific dates announced to date are the Jan. 31 start of closing sales in Lawrenceville and the Feb. 2 closure date for Woodstock. The Buckhead Station store is currently expected to remain among the limited group of continuing locations.

  • Woodstock: scheduled to close Feb. 2, 2026
  • Lawrenceville: scheduled to begin closing sales Jan. 31, 2026
  • Buckhead Station: expected to remain open
Only a small number of Saks OFF 5TH locations are expected to continue operating, primarily as an outlet for residual inventory from Saks Global’s full-line luxury banners.

Additional details on the pace of closures, liquidation terms and the future footprint of remaining stores may be clarified through bankruptcy court filings and company notices as the reorganization proceeds.
