Public Health Advisories

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued active advisories affecting the Atlanta metropolitan area:

  • Seasonal Flu Advisory: Health officials continue to report widespread and severe flu activity across Georgia. Residents are strongly urged to obtain vaccinations, as hospitalizations remain high. The DPH recommends that individuals who feel ill stay home and remain fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to work or school.

Following reports of cases near the U.S. border, the CDC has advised the public and healthcare providers to monitor for parasitic larvae in open wounds.
