MARTA Station Construction and Faregate Detours

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has issued a public service announcement regarding ongoing systemwide upgrades to the Breeze fare payment system. Effective Tuesday, March 3, 2026, construction activities will move to the Buckhead Station. During this period, all standard faregates at the station will be closed to facilitate the installation of new validators and equipment.

  • Access Points: Commuters are advised to utilize the emergency gates located at both the north and south entrances of the Buckhead Station.
  • Fare Payment: While gates are open for passage, the system remains in revenue service. Customers are required to pay their fare to exit at their final destination.

City Council Legislative Update: Watershed Infrastructure

The Atlanta City Council is moving forward with significant investments in the city's utility network. These funds are designated for a Project Management Services Team to oversee the execution of the "One Water Strategy."

  • Infrastructure Focus: The project prioritizes critical water and wastewater programs, including system rehabilitation at the Hemphill Pump Station.
  • Lead Service Line Identification: DWM continues its regulatory outreach regarding lead-free water lines. Residents may receive notices regarding "Lead Status Unknown" service lines as part of a citywide effort to verify and replace aging infrastructure.
