Public Meetings and Legislative Sessions

The City of Atlanta has scheduled several critical public meetings for Thursday, February 12, 2026. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend these sessions to stay informed on municipal governance and oversight. The following meetings are active today:

  • Department of Human Resources Civil Service Board: This board will conduct two sessions today at City Hall. The morning session is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by an afternoon session from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • General Employees' Defined Benefit Pension Administrative Committee: A meeting to discuss pension administration and fund management will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • WorkSource Atlanta: The local workforce development agency will hold its board session from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Industry Partnership Committee: This committee will meet immediately following WorkSource Atlanta, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., to discuss economic development and labor initiatives.
  • Atlanta Citizen Review Board (ACRB): The ACRB will hold its monthly public meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. This meeting provides a platform for the oversight of law enforcement activities and public comments.

Infrastructure and Traffic Advisories

The Department of Watershed Management and the Department of Transportation have issued several alerts regarding ongoing and upcoming work that will impact local transit today, February 12:

  • Decatur Street SE Closure: Officials have issued a final 24-hour notice for the emergency sewer repair project on Decatur Street SE. Starting tomorrow, Friday, February 13, the corridor between Hill Street SE and Hilliard Street SE will be closed to all through traffic for approximately six weeks. Motorists are advised to utilize alternate routes beginning today to avoid congestion.
  • 10th Street NE Sewer Rehabilitation: The 24-hour road closure on 10th Street NE remains in effect as crews continue mainline rehabilitation. Local access is maintained, but heavy delays are expected near the project site.
  • Ormond Street Improvement Project: Temporary closures continue on Ormond Street as part of the scheduled water main improvement initiative. Work is expected to occur between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Public Service and MARTA Announcements

MARTA has announced that its Board of Directors will meet today to discuss regional transit priorities. Additionally, riders should be aware of the following service alerts currently active:

  • Brookhaven Station: Due to ongoing maintenance, the southbound side of the platform is closed. All passengers must board both northbound and southbound trains on the northbound side of the platform.
  • Green Line Service: Modified service is currently in place between the Bankhead and Vine City stations. Riders are encouraged to check real-time digital signage for frequency updates.

Residents are reminded to sign up for the NotifyATL emergency alert system to receive real-time updates regarding public safety and weather-related city office closures.
