Jalen Johnson, CJ McCollum lead Hawks past 76ers 117-107 in Philadelphia after All-Star break
Hawks open post-break stretch by snapping skid on the road
The Atlanta Hawks began the post–All-Star break portion of the 2025-26 season with a 117-107 road win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The result ended a three-game losing streak for Atlanta and extended the Hawks’ season success against Philadelphia to three wins in three meetings.
Atlanta led 60-53 at halftime, then withstood a second-half push before closing the game with a decisive late run. Philadelphia narrowed the margin to 108-104 in the final minutes, but Atlanta finished on a 9-3 surge to secure the 10-point victory.
Johnson’s production and free-throw volume shaped the closing minutes
Forward Jalen Johnson was the primary driver of Atlanta’s offense, finishing with 32 points and 10 rebounds. His efficiency at the foul line was central to Atlanta’s late control of the game: he went 14-for-16 on free throws and scored five points during the Hawks’ final run.
CJ McCollum provided a second high-volume scoring option with 23 points, giving Atlanta two perimeter-oriented creators capable of carrying half-court possessions when transition opportunities were limited.
Secondary scoring and balance helped Atlanta maintain separation
Atlanta received meaningful contributions across the rotation, with Dyson Daniels scoring 15 points and Nickeil Alexander-Walker adding 14. Rookie wing Zaccharie Risacher and center Jock Landale each scored 10.
That distribution mattered in a game that remained competitive into the fourth quarter. Atlanta’s ability to generate points beyond its top two scorers reduced the impact of Philadelphia’s mid-game momentum swings and limited the likelihood of a single defensive adjustment changing the outcome.
- Atlanta outscored Philadelphia 60-53 in the first half.
- Philadelphia won the third quarter 31-28 but trailed entering the fourth.
- Atlanta closed the game with a 9-3 run after Philadelphia cut the deficit to four.
76ers’ offense leaned on Maxey and Edgecombe amid Embiid absence
Tyrese Maxey led Philadelphia with 28 points, while VJ Edgecombe scored 20. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 17, and Andre Drummond posted 10 points and 14 rebounds. Quentin Grimes finished with 14 points, with 10 coming before halftime.
Philadelphia played without center Joel Embiid due to right shin soreness. The team indicated Embiid felt soreness while participating in a right knee injury management program during the break; the plan discussed pregame was for him to get back on the court Friday for evaluation. Embiid entered the night averaging 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 31 games.
Up next: Atlanta is scheduled to host the Miami Heat on Friday, while Philadelphia is set to visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
