Cosm’s immersive dome venue at Centennial Yards sets June 10 opening date in downtown Atlanta

An immersive, planetarium-style venue is joining Atlanta’s downtown sports corridor

A new entertainment venue built around a giant LED dome is scheduled to open in downtown Atlanta on June 10, 2026, adding a major attraction to the Centennial Yards redevelopment near Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

The project, known as Cosm, is designed as a 70,000-square-foot, three-level venue centered on a planetarium-like viewing environment intended for live sports, film presentations, and other event programming. The concept has existing venues in Los Angeles and Dallas, with Atlanta set to become the company’s third location.

What Cosm is—and how it is expected to operate

The Atlanta venue’s main feature is an 87-foot-diameter LED dome designed to surround audiences with large-format visuals similar to planetarium projection, repurposed for ticketed entertainment. The space is planned to host a mix of live-event broadcasts and produced immersive content, alongside food-and-beverage service across multiple levels.

Organizers have positioned the dome as a venue for communal viewing of marquee sports and entertainment programming, rather than a traditional theater or arena format. Initial ticketed offerings have been announced for a range of sports and entertainment events.

  • Opening date: June 10, 2026

  • Location: Centennial Yards, downtown Atlanta, near Mercedes-Benz Stadium

  • Scale: 70,000 square feet across three levels

  • Signature feature: an 87-foot LED dome built for immersive viewing

Programming announced for opening and early summer

The first public event scheduled at the Atlanta venue is a broadcast viewing of Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 10. Additional ticketed events listed for early operations include UFC fight programming and immersive presentations tied to feature films such as “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “The Matrix,” along with an immersive presentation connected to Cirque du Soleil’s production “O.”

The venue’s early calendar signals a strategy built around major live sports nights and repeatable immersive entertainment titles that can run on select dates.

How the opening fits into Centennial Yards and the World Cup timeline

Cosm is opening as Centennial Yards advances its broader Sports and Entertainment District—part of a long-term plan to redevelop the Gulch area into a mixed-use neighborhood with residential, retail, restaurant, and event-focused components. The June 10 opening also lands days before Atlanta is set to begin hosting FIFA World Cup matches in mid-June 2026.

While Cosm has announced its opening date and an initial slate of programming, it has not announced plans to show World Cup matches at its venues.
