Atlanta traffic stop video details arrest tied to South Carolina Airbnb homicide investigation and juvenile extradition

Traffic stop in southwest Atlanta led to a separate arrest and the detention of a juvenile later linked to a Columbia case
Atlanta police body-worn camera footage released in 2025 shows a mid-afternoon traffic stop along the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive corridor that ended with two arrests and the brief detention of a 15-year-old passenger. The stop occurred about 2 p.m. on May 15, 2025, after officers identified a white Chevrolet Malibu believed to be driven by Sanchez Turner in the 3000 block of MLK Jr. Drive.
Police said Turner was wanted on allegations including fleeing and eluding and theft by receiving. Video from the stop shows officers issuing commands for the driver and passengers to exit with hands visible, followed by detentions at the roadside.
Who was arrested during the Atlanta stop
Authorities said Turner was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants. Another passenger, identified as Jaiden Jackson, was also arrested after police said he provided a false name during the investigation. Police said Jackson, described as a convicted felon, was charged with false representation and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both were booked into the Fulton County Jail, according to police.
A third passenger, a 15-year-old boy, was detained during the stop and later released to guardians. Police said the juvenile had no prior criminal history at the time of the Atlanta stop.
How the stop intersects with a South Carolina Airbnb shooting case
Separately, law enforcement in Columbia, South Carolina, has investigated a fatal shooting connected to a short-term rental property on Lincoln Street in the Elmwood Park neighborhood. The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on June 6, 2025, after an initial call reported a possible auto break-in that was upgraded to shots fired and a person hit. Officers forced entry into the residence, found four young people with gunshot wounds, and provided emergency aid until EMS arrived.
One victim, 18-year-old Jayden Brackins, died from multiple gunshot wounds. Three other victims—a 17-year-old male and two 18-year-old females—were hospitalized and reported in stable condition at the time of initial public updates.
