Atlanta police release video of Vine City road-rage crash that escalated into armed robbery

Dashcam-style clips show post-crash confrontation at MLK Jr. Drive and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard
Atlanta police have released video from a November traffic incident in Vine City that investigators say escalated from a road-rage crash into an armed robbery. The encounter occurred on Nov. 27, 2025, in the 900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW at the intersection with Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard.
Investigators said three occupants from another vehicle approached a driver and demanded property at gunpoint. The footage, distributed this week as part of an effort to identify suspects, consists of two short clips that begin moments after a collision, showing damaged vehicles stopped in or near traffic lanes.
The video appears to show an armed suspect exiting a vehicle and aiming a handgun toward the victim’s car while others move around the crash scene.
What the video shows, and what remains unclear
In the released clips, a dark sedan is visible with rear-end damage and positioned against the flow of traffic. A white sedan behind it appears to emit smoke. A dark SUV is also seen near the damaged cars. Two individuals exit the SUV, and one appears to be holding a weapon. The person with the gun is shown pointing it toward the dark sedan before the SUV later leaves the area.
Authorities have not released details on whether anyone was injured during the crash or the confrontation that followed. Investigators have also not publicly specified what items, if any, were taken, nor have they identified the people involved. Police have not said what prompted the initial crash or how the confrontation began.
While the SUV is shown departing, investigators have not provided the vehicle’s make, model, or license plate number in the public summary accompanying the footage.
Why police release video in active investigations
Public video releases are commonly used to generate leads in cases where suspects have not been identified or located. In incidents tied to fast-moving confrontations—such as those that occur immediately after a crash—law enforcement often seeks additional witnesses who may have been stopped nearby, captured supplemental footage, or recognized people or vehicles shown in the clips.
How to provide information
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identities of the suspects to submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. Tips can be made by phone at 404-577-8477. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
